Dear admissions,
My name is Camilla Sadyrova, I am an international student from Kazakhstan and I am eager to study at UNIST in 2015.
Please allow me to take this opportunity to explain why did I miss the deadline. During my preparation for colleges, I received some very disheartening and dire news from my relatives back home: my mother is grieviously ill. She has been hospitalized and since then I have hardly been able to speak to her. Now that I have had time to adjust to the news and manage the stress, I decided to focus on my education again. I hope that you will take my present situation into account when taking your decision. I also considered it important to include additional information about me.
I have graduated from physical mathematical school named after O. Zhautykov in 2014, my gpa is 5 out of 5 and I had an honour to participate in 4 international scientific conferences, which are:
1)The Zholdasbekov International Conference. This conference is named after Myrzatai Zholdasbekov –– professor, writer, and scientist. It is considered one of the most prestigious conferences in Kazakhstan. Around 800 children from different countries participated in it last year. The jury consists of Kazgu’s professors and doctors of mathematical sciences. Incidentally, Kazgu is a very prestigious university in Kazakhstan. I won the first place at this conference, which allowed me to enroll in any university in Kazakhstan without entrance exams and provided me with a full financial help.
2)The International Scientific Conferences “University Gymnasium,” held at the Saint Petersburg University, and “Kolmagorov’s Readings,» held at the Moscow State University. These universities are considered the best in Russia. The jury consists of recognized Russian scientists and professors. I won first place at “University Gymnasium.” Depending on the year, from 1000 to 1500 Russian and international students participate there.
3) The Sakharov Readings Conference, which has a reputation as the most serious scientific conference among students in Russia. The jury of this conference consists of doctors of physical and mathematical sciences from prestigious universities, including Saint Petersburg University and a physico-mathematical institute named after Abram Joffe. The chairman of an Organizing Committee of the conference is Professor Zhores Alferov, the 2000 Physics Nobel Prize Winner. He was awarded for his contribution in the development of semiconductor heterostructures for high-speed optoelectronics. Zhores Alferov, awarded me a special diploma for my work. The special diploma in this conference represents winning.
I will gladly provide English translations of my papers from these conferences upon request. I sincerely hope that you still might consider me as an applicant for 2015.
Please let me know if there are any additional materials needed. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Camilla Sadyrova
